Gazza goes into the wine biz; not

Gazza goes into the wine biz; not

Gascony (English spelling) is the Gascogne region in the south west of France. A land where Armagnac, foie gras, and local produce reign supreme, still.

Get a bit confused with your vowels, and before you know it you've actually not got a south west French wine on the list. It's a Geordie upstart, complete with "flower and pear"; which if you know the Geordie patois, could well be ironic too ("you look lovely flower" or "aw, you're looking like a right pear tonight")

Gascogne gets spelled wrongly; again

Free tip for anyone writing a wine list: get someone else to proof-read it before you print it and put it on your website.
